EFDA On-the-Job Training

Overview

This program prepares students to work as Expanded Functions Dental Assistants (EFDA) under the direct supervision of a licensed Florida dentist, fully meeting the standards required by the Florida Board of Dentistry. The curriculum blends theory, simulation and supervised clinical practice within a real dental office environment, and includes the training required for radiographic duties.

• EFA 300: Introduction to Clinical Dental Assisting (24 hrs)
• EFA 301: Infection Control and Sterilization (7 hrs)
• EFA 302: Foundations of Dental Assisting and Florida Laws (4 hrs)
• EFA 303: Sciences in Dentistry and Dental Materials (20 hrs)
• EFA 304: Radiology and Safety Procedures
• EFA 307: Clinical Chairside Practice and Radiographic Duties (OJT) Externship (56 hrs)
