ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT LEVEL 2 / 6 HOURS ON-SITE

The purpose is for the participant to master the procedures that are frequently carried out during orthodontic treatment.
Note: To enroll in this training course, you must be a certified dental assistant, dental hygienist, or international dentist.

PROGRAM CONTENT
- Beginning of day procedures
- Become familiar with the different wire sizes, diameters, shapes and materials (upper and lower)
- Orthodontic arch wire adjustment (sequences)
- Stainless steel ties
- Ligature 6 to 6
- Cinching, NiTi wire
- Figurate 8 with elastic tie
- Place open and closed coils, closed coil adjustable force with eyelet, Kobayash hooks/koby ties
- Recognized attachments and auxiliaries of orthodontic treatment (eyelets, coil eyelet, low profile cleats, gullwing cleats, distalizing springs, stainless steel springs, uprighting spring, rotation spring, power pin, auxiliary light torqueing arch, compliance spring, separating spring, Kilroy spring I-II, monkey hook)
- How work the eruption appliance
- Threading or lacing orthodontically: elastic thread/power thread – Stainless steel tie lacing
- Rubber bands (configuration/shape): material, size and strength of elastics.
- Rubber bands instructions for patients.

02 coa aDVISEMENT
If you live in a state other than Florida, the content of this course will help you in the application of the Board to obtain the certification as an orthodontic assistant (Certified Orthodontic Assistant COA) and we will be able to advise you on the process for it.
03 COURSE CERTIFICATION
Having this certification is an important "plus" for your resume.
